In 2000, 17-year-old Brandon Adams had a simple but meaningful goal: to connect with his father, a former member of the United States Army Security Agency, through a shared love of games. His father, a fan of tabletop games, struggled to relate to the video games that Brandon enjoyed. Inspired to bridge the gap, Brandon set out to design a military-themed card game, one that could bring them together.

However, after spending hours trying to perfect a single card’s design, Brandon felt frustrated and abandoned the project. It seemed like the idea was lost—until years later, in 2018, when Brandon shared the story with his son over dinner. As they played a tabletop game together, Brandon was struck with a sudden realization: this was the moment to bring the idea back to life. The foundation of Warsaken was born.

The Beginnings of Warsaken: From Failure to Innovation

By early 2020, the vision for Warsaken began to take shape. Brandon and his team founded Eclectic Nerds LLC, a game publishing company dedicated to developing Warsaken. Initially called Legion of War, the game’s first Kickstarter campaign launched that year—but unfortunately, it did not succeed. The campaign ended in what could be called a “glorious failure,” but rather than deterring the team, it provided invaluable lessons about the market and the industry. The experience helped Eclectic Nerds refine the game, restructure, and understand what gamers were truly looking for.

In the months that followed, they perfected the game’s first set of artwork and began developing the game further. With the lessons learned from their initial setback, they relaunched the Kickstarter campaign and secured important trademarks for both Eclectic Nerds and Warsaken.

In mid-2021, Eclectic Nerds took a bold step forward. The team expanded by creating EN Digital LLC, a new entity to build the blockchain version of Warsaken under a licensing agreement from Eclectic Nerds. This move would allow them to tap into the emerging world of digital collectibles and NFTs, bringing the game’s concept into the world of play-to-earn and blockchain gaming.

After extensive research, the team chose to build Warsaken’s digital version on the WAX blockchain, known for its robust NFT infrastructure and strong support for gaming projects.
