What is Stargate?
Stargate is a community-driven platform building the first fully composable native asset bridge and the first decentralized application (dApp) built on LayerZero.
Stargate’s core vision is to make cross-chain liquidity transfer a seamless, single transaction process, allowing assets to flow between different blockchains with ease.
How Is Stargate Used?
- DeFi Users:
- Stargate enables DeFi users to swap native assets across chains in a single transaction. For example, you can swap USDC on Ethereum for USDT on BNB without multiple steps.
- This cross-chain swap process is simple and efficient, reducing friction in decentralized finance operations.
- Applications:
- Applications can integrate Stargate to execute native cross-chain transactions at the application level.
- Example 1: A decentralized exchange (DEX) could use Stargate to enable seamless cross-chain swaps, like swapping AVAX for ETH, all within the DEX’s user interface.
- Example 2: Yield aggregators can leverage Stargate to deploy assets across chains, unlocking higher APY opportunities by accessing liquidity on multiple chains.
These cross-chain swaps are supported by Stargate’s community-owned unified liquidity pools, enhancing liquidity and user experience.
Why is Stargate Different?
Stargate is a pioneering solution that addresses the Bridging Trilemma, a common problem for cross-chain transactions. Here’s how Stargate stands out:
- Instant Guaranteed Finality:
- Stargate ensures that when users commit a transaction on the source chain, it is guaranteed to arrive on the destination chain, making cross-chain transfers trustworthy and predictable.
- Native Assets:
- Unlike other bridges that require wrapped assets (which need additional swaps and incur extra fees), Stargate allows users to swap native assets directly across chains, making the process simpler and cheaper.
- Unified Liquidity:
- Stargate features a single liquidity pool shared across multiple blockchains, providing deeper liquidity for users and applications. This unified liquidity reduces fragmentation and improves transaction efficiency.
