History of Adventure Gold (AGLD)

Adventure Gold was created by Will Papper, a Stanford graduate and crypto-native, who is also the co-founder of Syndicate DAO. Papper’s vision for Adventure Gold was inspired by Vitalik Buterin’s endorsement of the Loot project, which encouraged the community to create decentralized games and applications using Loot’s on-chain gear.

In August 2021, Papper launched Adventure Gold one day after receiving Vitalik Buterin’s support, marking the project’s official start. Papper wrote the majority of the code in just four hours at a small airport in Oregon. This rapid development highlights the project’s grassroots nature and the swift momentum behind the Loot ecosystem.

The AGLD token was initially distributed through an airdrop to Loot NFT holders, with each NFT owner receiving 10,000 AGLD tokens.
