About Bybit
Bybit is a popular cryptocurrency exchange platform designed to provide advanced trading tools for both professional and retail traders. Founded in 2018, Bybit has quickly become one of the most prominent exchanges in the crypto space, offering a range of features that cater to a variety of trading styles. It is particularly well-known for its derivatives trading (such as futures contracts) and leveraged trading offerings, but it also provides spot trading and other services.
Key Features of Bybit:
- Derivatives and Futures Trading:
- Futures Contracts: Bybit is most recognized for its leveraged futures contracts. Users can trade cryptocurrency futures, which allow them to speculate on the price of various digital assets without owning the underlying asset itself.
- Leveraged Trading: Traders can use leverage (up to 100x) to amplify their position. This means they can control a larger position than their initial deposit would otherwise allow. While this increases potential profits, it also increases risk.
- Perpetual Contracts: Bybit offers perpetual contracts for popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and more. These contracts don’t have an expiry date, making them ideal for long-term trades or hedging strategies.
- Spot Trading:
- Bybit also provides a spot market where users can buy and sell cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other altcoins at market prices. This is ideal for users who want to directly acquire and hold assets.
- Staking and Yield:
- Bybit offers staking services for certain cryptocurrencies, allowing users to earn rewards for holding specific tokens on the platform. This feature is popular for those looking to earn passive income on their assets.
- Advanced Trading Tools:
- Technical Analysis: Bybit provides a robust set of tools for technical analysis, including charts, indicators, and customizable order types. Traders can use these tools to make informed decisions based on market trends.
- Order Types: The platform supports various order types such as limit orders, market orders, and stop-loss orders, giving traders flexibility in how they enter and exit positions.
- API Access: For developers and algorithmic traders, Bybit offers an API that allows users to integrate custom strategies or automate trading activities.
- Security:
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Bybit emphasizes the security of users’ assets by offering 2FA (through apps like Google Authenticator).
- Cold Storage: A significant portion of user funds are kept in cold storage, reducing the risk of hacks.
- Insurance Fund: Bybit maintains an insurance fund to protect users in the event of liquidations beyond their account balance, ensuring the platform remains solvent even during extreme market conditions.
- Mobile and Web App:
- Bybit offers both a web-based platform and a mobile app for easy access to trading. The app is well-rated and provides users with full functionality to execute trades, track market prices, and manage their assets on the go.
- Liquidity:
- Bybit provides high liquidity, especially in its futures markets, which ensures tight spreads and low slippage for traders. This is particularly important for those who trade on high leverage, as it minimizes potential losses during large price movements.
- Educational Resources:
- Bybit offers resources to help both beginners and advanced traders, including tutorials, webinars, and an academy for learning about various aspects of crypto trading, including how to use advanced tools like leverage and margin.
Supported Cryptocurrencies:
Bybit supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies for both spot and derivatives trading. These include major assets like:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Ripple (XRP)
- Polkadot (DOT)
- Solana (SOL)
- EOS and several other altcoins.
Fees on Bybit:
Bybit operates on a maker-taker fee structure:
- Taker Fee: The fee for users who place market orders (i.e., orders that take liquidity from the market).
- Maker Fee: The fee for users who place limit orders that add liquidity to the order book.
The fees vary depending on the type of trade, and the platform offers fee discounts for users with higher trading volumes or those who stake BNB (the native token of Bybit’s ecosystem). The fees are typically lower compared to some other exchanges, especially for futures contracts.
Bybit’s Token – BYD:
Bybit has its own utility token called BYD, which can be used for various purposes on the platform, such as paying for transaction fees at a discount, participating in staking rewards, and more. Holding BYD tokens can also earn users access to certain premium features or promotions.
Global Presence:
- Licensing and Regulation: Bybit is not registered in all countries, but it is accessible to users in many jurisdictions around the world. However, it’s important to note that Bybit complies with the regulatory requirements in the regions it operates in.
- Global Community: The platform serves users in numerous countries and offers customer support in multiple languages, making it widely accessible for international traders.
Advantages of Bybit:
- Leverage and Risk Management: Bybit’s high leverage options are attractive for professional traders who are comfortable with higher risks and want to amplify their potential returns.
- User Interface: Bybit has an intuitive and user-friendly interface, making it easy for both beginners and advanced users to trade.
- Staking and Passive Income: With its staking options, Bybit provides users a way to earn passive income on their holdings.
- Security Features: The exchange uses industry-standard security measures, including cold storage for funds and insurance funds to protect against extreme market events.
Disadvantages:
- Not Available in All Countries: Bybit restricts access to some countries, and users in certain jurisdictions (like the U.S. or certain European countries) may not be able to access the platform.
- Complex for Beginners: While the platform provides educational resources, Bybit’s advanced tools and features (like leveraged trading) might be intimidating for those new to crypto or trading in general.
Bybit is a feature-rich cryptocurrency exchange offering advanced trading capabilities, including leveraged futures trading, spot trading, staking, and a suite of tools designed for professional traders. Its security measures and user-friendly interface make it a popular choice for a wide range of traders, from beginners to professionals. However, as with any platform, users should be mindful of the risks associated with leveraged trading and ensure they fully understand the platform’s features before engaging in high-risk activities.

Prompting a mandatory update with a pop up that won’t allow uses do anything all of a sudden is not a wise idea (FOOLISH). You’ve got traders on this platform, every seconds matters a lot. We should have the opportunity to checkback.

Well, the bybit platform could have been great, but except for the withdrawal page that is quite cumbersome, I understand that it’s all for the safety of our wallet but please make the last withdrawal instructions a choice between our email address and our authenticator code, and not both at the same time. Then I’ll come back to make it a 5 star recommendation.

Bybit App used to be excellent🤔, but since 2024, apart from trading services, to access and use majority of the other services is a thug-of-war. Very buggy, too frequent downtimes, timing out every 5secs, frustrated me during $NOT launch not to mention other opportunities I have missed cause of these bugs😡… It’s a nightmare over here, this app is becoming a shadow of itself. I love Bybit but mehn m so very pissed off, so sad right now because it getting worse daily🥵 Fix your app, PLEASE

So far, my experience with the app has been disappointing. I’m currently encountering issues with posting ads. Every time I attempt to post, I’m redirected to fill out a form to become a verified merchant, which I don’t want to do. Furthermore, the customer support feedback takes too long to respond.

I have been using Bybit for numerous P2P transactions and have found the platform very user-friendly. However, my bank account has recently been frozen, and the bank is asking for invoices related to the sale and purchase of crypto. I am writing to request assistance from the Bybit team. Is there a way to obtain invoices for P2P transactions? If such invoices are available, it would greatly help in resolving my current situation with the bank. Thank you for your support and understanding.

It is either all Bybit workers are rude or they’re bots. I don’t understand why I’ve made a complaint about a failed deposit for the past two weeks and have not been attended to. I’ve used every medium possible, yet no response. Telegram, email, Twitter. I’ve not had this kind of issues with the other exchange I’m using. You have to do better

This is the best cryptocurrency App I have ever seen. It’s highly protected, and user friendly. The organization should accept automated facial photo capture because, not everybody has the type of documents they are requesting in stage 2 of the verification process. This will encourage more persons to be registered and fully verified ❤️👍 .

Bybit is a pretty good transition from binance. The app and trading tokens are almost about equal. I do wish the port thr bybit app onto desktop, i prefer running that vs a web page. But the app on the phone is perfect, I would even say navigation is much better than binance.
