In light of the recent downturn in the crypto market, the sales volume of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) has experienced a 6% decline, dropping to $84.6 million. Despite some recent indications of a potential recovery in the crypto space, any gains have now seemingly vanished.
Data from CoinMarketCap shows that the global crypto market cap has decreased by 1.39%, currently sitting at $2.31 trillion. Last week, NFT sales reached $89.1 million, but according to the latest figures from CryptoSlam, this figure has since fallen to $84.6 million.
The Ethereum blockchain remains dominant in the NFT market, generating $28.3 million in sales, while Solana has maintained its position in second place for the second consecutive week.
Interestingly, the number of NFT buyers increased by 21%, and the number of NFT sellers rose by 30%, up from last week’s count of 385,184.
Ethereum NFT sales drop by over 6.6%
Last week, the sales volume for NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain reached $31.1 million. However, recent data indicates that this figure has fallen below the $30 million mark, now standing at $28.3 million.
This week has seen a decline, with a 6.6% decrease over the past seven days. Notably, the number of NFT buyers on the Ethereum blockchain has risen by 17.4%, totaling 56,021.
In terms of its second-place ranking, Solana has held steady for two consecutive weeks, despite experiencing an 11.3% decline over the past seven days. Data reveals that NFT volume on the Solana blockchain reached $16.1 million, while the number of NFT buyers saw a significant increase of 27.7%, rising to 385,272.
Bitcoin exhibited the smallest sales drop, with a modest loss of 2.78%, bringing its total to $14.12 million. Meanwhile, Mythos Chain (MYTH) secured the fourth position with $10.9 million in NFT sales, reflecting a 6.65% decrease over the last week.
Immutable (IMX) claimed the fifth spot, showing a slight 6.2% drop in NFT sales volume. Notably, Ethereum accounted for a substantial portion of wash trading, totaling $3.66 million.
DMarket stays unhinged at first-ranking
DMarket reported a sales volume of $5.744 million, reflecting an 11.62% decline during this period.
In second place, Guild of Guardians Heroes 2 achieved sales of $3.28 million.
