It is a standardized token where each WBTC unit represents one Bitcoin. The process begins with users depositing Bitcoin into a specific custodian-managed address, such as BitGo or Coinbase Custody. Upon deposit, an equivalent amount of WBTC is minted on the Ethereum blockchain and functions like any other ERC-20 token.
