KURL Technology Group Expands Bitcoin Holdings to $60 Million with $10 Million Acquisition

KURL Technology Group has made a strategic move to bolster its Bitcoin reserves, purchasing 100 Bitcoin for $10 million. The latest acquisition brings the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to approximately 610 BTC, valued at around $60 million. This purchase was made at an average price of $103,905 per Bitcoin, even as the cryptocurrency was trading below $99,000.

The move underscores KURL’s ongoing commitment to treating Bitcoin as a core asset, with Michael Mo, the company’s CEO and co-founder, emphasizing that the company intends to continue accumulating Bitcoin as part of its financial strategy. Since December 2024, the company has been steadily increasing its Bitcoin treasury, beginning with an initial $21 million investment.

KURL’s strategy is to allocate 90% of its excess cash reserves to buy Bitcoin. This is made possible through the use of equity sales via an at-the-market offering (ATM), a method also adopted by MicroStrategy, a company known for its large Bitcoin acquisitions. This approach allows KURL to continue expanding its BTC holdings without significantly impacting its day-to-day operations.

In line with this strategy, KURL has introduced a new performance metric called BTC Yield. This metric measures the percentage difference between the company’s outstanding diluted shares and its Bitcoin holdings. The company reports that its BTC Yield has reached 167.3% year-to-date, a figure that has attracted the attention of investors and contributed to increasing participation in KURL’s ATM program.

KURL’s Bitcoin strategy continues to set it apart, reinforcing its position as a forward-thinking energy company with a robust approach to managing its cash reserves and securing long-term value through Bitcoin. The growing BTC holdings are also positioning the company to benefit from the cryptocurrency’s potential for price appreciation, further driving shareholder value.
