io.net and Injective have teamed up to advance the future of decentralized finance (DeFi) and artificial intelligence (AI) on the Injective blockchain network. This collaboration marks a significant step toward integrating decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) and decentralized AI (DeFAI) on the blockchain.
As part of the collaboration, io.net will expand its decentralized GPU compute network to Injective, enabling developers within the DeFAI ecosystem to utilize powerful computing resources on the blockchain. The integration is live, and io.net now supports developers working on the Injective network.
The DePIN market, currently valued at approximately $32 billion, includes notable players like Render, Filecoin, Theta Network, and The Graph. io.net is one of the leaders in this space, with a market capitalization of $393 million as of January 14, 2025. The broader AI and AI Agents market caps stand at $13 billion and $44 billion, respectively.
Injective, with a market cap of $2.03 billion, is a prominent blockchain platform known for its focus on DeFi, real-world assets, and AI. It has received backing from major venture capital firms such as Jump Crypto and Pantera Capital, as well as being incubated by Binance.
Through this partnership, io.net and Injective aim to unlock new opportunities for developers in the Web3 space by providing access to decentralized GPU computing power and AI tools. This collaboration enables developers to tap into Injective’s iAgent framework and io.net’s decentralized GPU network, which together will offer greater flexibility and cost-effectiveness in accessing computational resources.
In addition to this collaboration, Injective and Aethir announced a key initiative in December 2024, which introduced tokenized GPU compute resource allocation. This innovation allows GPU resources to be converted into tradeable tokens on Injective, providing developers, researchers, and businesses with more affordable and accessible options for utilizing computational power in the AI ecosystem.
