Drift Announces Season 2 Airdrop for May 2025

Drift, a Solana-based on-chain trading platform, has announced plans for its Season 2 airdrop, set for May 2025. The Drift team shared the news on X, following several key milestones for the platform in 2024. Notably, Drift launched its native token, DRIFT, in May, and in July 2024, the platform introduced FUEL, a rewards program aimed at enhancing user engagement and incentivizing growth.

The Season 2 airdrop will reward all users across Drift’s decentralized exchange platform. The FUEL program is designed to align incentives and help drive the protocol’s expansion. One of Drift’s main goals for the year is to evolve into a Super Protocol, with plans to focus on various areas including borrowing and lending, derivatives, prediction markets, automated market making, and wealth management.

In 2024, Drift saw significant growth, particularly with the integration of real-world assets, including the notable support for Ondo. The platform also added several stablecoins, such as USDe, PayPal USD, and Sky’s USDS, and launched liquid staking. Drift Earn, the platform’s vault feature, has also attracted substantial capital, with structured products designed for trading and yield strategies bringing millions of dollars in total value locked (TVL).

Airdrops have been a hot trend in 2024, with top distributions from projects like Hyperliquid, Starknet, and Pudgy Penguins making waves. Other notable airdrops came from Notcoin, a tap-to-earn game based on the Open Network, and Solana DEX protocol Jupiter.

In the Solana ecosystem, several anticipated airdrops for 2025 include Jupiter Round 2, Solayer, Sanctum Season 2, Sonic SVM, and DeBridge S2, along with expectations surrounding Berachain, Karak Network, Linea, Babylon, and Hyperliquid Season 2.
