CUDIS, a Web3 wellness company backed by Draper Associates, has announced a year-long partnership with UCLA Athletics to promote its AI-powered smart rings. The collaboration aims to introduce CUDIS’ innovative wearable technology to UCLA students, athletes, and sports fans, with a focus on promoting healthy lifestyles, performance tracking, and data ownership.

CUDIS plans to activate the UCLA campus through various promotional events, where the smart rings will be showcased. The company will also sign Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements with student-athletes from a range of UCLA teams, including men’s and women’s tennis, golf, basketball, women’s gymnastics, and football. These student-athletes will share the product with their followers and help raise awareness of CUDIS’ smart rings through their personal platforms.

The partnership will also include interactive campaigns targeting UCLA fans, such as lucky draw promotions at sporting events. The aim is to connect the CUDIS brand to UCLA Athletics’ vibrant sports culture while engaging the community in discussions about health and wellness.

CUDIS’ smart ring utilizes blockchain technology to track various health metrics, including heart rate, sleep, stress, and calories burned. Built on the Solana blockchain, the ring provides users with full ownership of their health data and offers personalized wellness advice through an AI-powered coach. The ring also features a dynamic rewards system, encouraging users to make healthy choices and earn passive rewards for positive behaviors.

Edison Chen, CEO of CUDIS, expressed that the collaboration is particularly meaningful for the company, as UCLA is where their journey began. This partnership follows a successful $5 million funding round in September, led by Draper Associates and supported by several other investors including Skybridge, Penrose, and Foresight Ventures.

Through this collaboration, CUDIS aims to expand its reach and influence in both the sports and wellness sectors, while leveraging blockchain to empower users with more control over their health data.
