Ronin Network is an Ethereum sidechain launched by Sky Mavis, creators of Axie Infinity, in February 2021. It enables fast, low-fee transactions for play-to-earn games. Initially using a proof-of-authority model, Ronin switched to a delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) model with the launch of its native token, RON, in 2022. RON serves as both the network's governance token and a medium of exchange.
