Canary Capital Includes SUI in Latest Crypto ETF Filings

Canary Capital has added the Sui blockchain token to its list of potential Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), signaling a significant move in the growing trend of crypto ETFs.

According to reports, Canary Capital has filed documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the approval to list and trade shares of a spot ETF tracking the Sui layer-1 cryptocurrency. This filing, an S-1 registration of securities, follows Canary’s establishment of a Sui trust in Delaware on March 7 ahead of its formal submission to the SEC.

This filing marks the latest addition to Canary Capital’s existing portfolio of crypto product bids for Wall Street. The firm has previously filed for Dogecoin, Litecoin, Solana, and XRP ETFs, expanding the scope of its crypto investment offerings.

Additionally, Canary Capital has forged a strategic partnership with World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol backed by former U.S. President Donald Trump. As part of the deal, WLFI plans to onboard Sui to its token reserves and explore deeper integrations with the Sui ecosystem.

The filing comes amid a wave of crypto ETF filings to the SEC, especially following Trump’s support for the cryptocurrency industry during his presidency. Under his leadership, the SEC was encouraged to review crypto regulations more favorably, and lawmakers were urged to consider pro-crypto legislation. Trump’s administration also introduced an Executive Order to establish the U.S.’s first Bitcoin reserve, signaling growing support for the inclusion of digital assets in traditional financial systems.

The potential launch of a Sui ETF would represent another step forward in the institutional adoption of blockchain technology, particularly for Sui, which is a layer-1 blockchain known for its scalability and high-performance capabilities. The approval of such an ETF would give Sui a prominent place in the U.S. financial market and could attract further institutional investment.
