Cardano Partners with Brazil’s State-Owned IT Giant SERPRO

The Cardano Foundation has recently formed a strategic partnership with Serviço Federal de Processamento de Dados (SERPRO), Brazil’s largest state-owned information technology provider. SERPRO is a key player in the Brazilian government’s digital solutions, powering over 90% of the country’s federal administration. This collaboration, announced on March 6, is seen as a major step in advancing blockchain adoption in Brazil and Latin America as a whole.

The alliance between Cardano and SERPRO holds significant promise for accelerating blockchain adoption across Brazil’s public sector. Cardano’s blockchain, known for its advanced infrastructure and focus on sustainability, will be integrated into SERPRO’s operations, which could revolutionize how the Brazilian government manages and delivers digital services.

This collaboration will primarily focus on innovation, blockchain education, and digital infrastructure integration. By leveraging Cardano’s technology alongside SERPRO’s public sector experience, this partnership aims to modernize Brazil’s public services and enhance government transparency, ultimately benefiting the nation’s digital transformation efforts.

An integral part of the collaboration is the introduction of the Cardano Academy program, which will be rolled out to SERPRO’s 8,000 employees, with more than 2,000 developers expected to benefit from it. This initiative will provide specialized training in blockchain technology, empowering Brazil’s public sector professionals with the skills necessary to drive further blockchain adoption and innovation within the government.

According to Alexandre Gonçalves de Amorim, the director-president of SERPRO, this partnership represents a pivotal moment in positioning Brazil as a leader in digital government transformation. By combining SERPRO’s expertise in public administration with Cardano’s blockchain infrastructure, Brazil can enhance the efficiency and security of its public sector services, helping to drive broader adoption of blockchain technology in governmental functions.

This partnership follows Cardano’s previous alliance with Petrobras, Brazil’s state-owned oil giant, in December 2023, which also focused on blockchain adoption. With its growing influence in Brazil and the broader Latin American region, Cardano is reinforcing its position as a key player in public sector blockchain integration.

This development comes at a time when Cardano’s ADA token has seen significant growth, especially after its inclusion in discussions surrounding the U.S. strategic crypto reserve. The partnership with SERPRO further solidifies Cardano’s reputation as a major blockchain platform poised for global expansion.
