About Usual (USUAL)
Usual is a decentralized platform designed to issue a Fiat Stablecoin, providing an innovative and secure approach to digital finance. At the core of the Usual ecosystem is the $USUAL governance token, which offers users both ownership and governance over the protocol’s infrastructure and treasury. This token is uniquely structured with an intrinsic value that is directly tied to the protocol’s revenue model, enabling it to drive the adoption and use of USD0, its native stablecoin. The aim is to align the incentives of contributors, fueling the protocol’s growth and encouraging decentralized development within the ecosystem.
The Usual protocol operates using a three-token system:
- USD0 is a stablecoin that is fully backed by short-term, liquid, and risk-free assets. This ensures that the stablecoin is not exposed to the risks associated with traditional banks or counterparties. It is designed to be composable, permissionless, and transparent, making it a powerful tool within the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem.
- USD0++ represents the liquid staking token for USD0. By staking USD0++, users receive rewards in the form of $USUAL tokens, creating a unique value proposition for those who engage with the protocol and contribute to its liquidity and growth.
- $USUAL is the governance and growth token. It rewards the expansion of USD0’s adoption and usage, acting as ownership of the protocol’s revenue stream. As a governance token, $USUAL empowers holders to participate in decision-making processes regarding the future of the protocol, all while being backed by actual revenue flows from the Usual ecosystem.
This token model, with its focus on real cash flows and decentralized governance, sets the stage for new possibilities in DeFi, encouraging both the adoption of USD0 and the sustainable expansion of the ecosystem.
