World Liberty Finance, a decentralized finance (DeFi) project led by Donald Trump’s sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., with 18-year-old Barron Trump serving as the “DeFi visionary,” is set to launch on September 16. The project aims to disrupt traditional banking by fully embracing cryptocurrency.
In a recent podcast, Donald Trump announced the upcoming launch, emphasizing the need to “embrace the future with crypto and leave slow and outdated big banks behind.” He encouraged followers to join him live at 8 P.M. on the day of the launch.
A draft of the World Liberty Financial whitepaper, obtained by CoinDesk, outlines plans for a “credit account system” built on the DeFi platform Aave and the Ethereum blockchain, which will facilitate decentralized borrowing and lending. Additionally, the project’s Telegram channel indicates ambitions to create stablecoins pegged to the U.S. dollar, with the goal of promoting U.S.-pegged stablecoins globally to maintain the dollar’s dominance.
